Tuition Adjustment (TA), when available, helps ensure that the acceptance of a child into our school is not solely dependent on the financial resources of the child's family—a concept that was important to Rudolf Steiner in the founding of Waldorf education.

Aftercare at Valley City Waldorf School

Aftercare when permitted by L.A. County is typically available at Valley City Waldorf School from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM for all students 4 years 9 months and older.

All children not picked up by 3:00 pm will be checked into Aftercare. Aftercare is billed in half-hour increments. Please provide an extra snack for your child if they will be staying in aftercare.

Aftercare Fees:

$10 per hour for one child
$12 per hour for two children

Individual Music Lessons

Our music teachers offer individual music lessons in violin, cello and piano. Please contact our school directly for more information.

TA- Tuition Adjustment

Valley City Waldorf School is committed to broadening the accessibility of Waldorf education through affordable tuition with our TA (Tuition Adjustment) policy.

Our tuition is reviewed annually by our Board and increased as necessary with school expenditures or developments.

The steps toward participating in this program are as follows:

  1. The family must be fully enrolled in the school prior to applying for TA (all enrollment forms completed, enrollment deposit and any other applicable application fees paid.)

  2. The family submits the tuition adjustment application through TADS (click here for application). This service will offer additional support to TA applicants. Please find an Aid Assessment Application Process Workbook here for your assistance.

  3. Those unable to submit the materials requested may inquire about alternative financial data that may be accepted under special circumstances.

  4. The Tuition Adjustment Committee meets and reviews the family’s documentation submitted to TADS. If the documentation in TADS appears incomplete or does not provide a clear financial picture, then the TA Committee will request the applicant to upload missing and/or additional documentation. A letter is then sent to the applicant communicating the TA Committee’s decision. If an offer is extended, and an agreement reached, the family will then contribute on a twelve-month basis to the school’s finances. This agreement is kept confidential between the parties involved.

  5. If, at any time, the family’s financial situation changes, the family is to request another conversation and additional support documentation will be requested.

  6. A new conversation takes place for each school year.
